MFA statement on the situation in East Jerusalem

10.05.2021

Poland is deeply concerned about the escalation of violence in East Jerusalem. We urge all sides to take immediate actions aimed at de-escalating the current situation and to refrain from confrontational rhetoric. We also condemn other acts of violence which have occurred over the past days, including around the Gaza Strip and in the West Bank.

MFA STATEMENT

We are also concerned by the risk of eviction of several Palestinian families in the Sheikh Jarrah district. We firmly oppose any unilateral actions which exacerbate the current tensions and undermine the prospect of a peaceful resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

We call upon both sides to resume a constructive dialogue aimed at resolving the conflict on the basis of the two-state solution, in line with the internationally agreed parameters.
