Minister Jacek Czaputowicz meets with Mohammed Maziad al-Tuwaijri, Advisor at the Royal Court of Saudi Arabia

“The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is an important strategic partner for Poland in the Persian Gulf and in the Middle East.We are very satisfied with the overall intensity of our bilateral contacts at the political level and their recent development,” Minister Jacek Czaputowicz said during today’s meeting with Mohammed Maziad al-Tuwaijri, Advisor for economic and international affairs at the Royal Court of Saudi Arabia. The meeting discussed the state and prospects of bilateral relations and cooperation of the Polish side with the Saudi G20 Presidency.
Minister Czaputowicz said that the year 2020 is particularly important for relations between Poland and Saudi Arabia as it marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between them. Moreover, both officials expressed their satisfaction with Polish-Saudi cooperation in selected G20 working groups, where the Saudi Presidency invited Polish experts. They also covered bilateral economic relations and their prospects in the context of plans to hold the 4th Polish-Saudi Commission for Bilateral Cooperation and the Saudi Vision 2030 Programme in such areas as transport and food security. Minister Czaputowicz thanked Mohammed Maziad al-Tuwaijri for Saudi Arabia’s active participation in the Warsaw Process.
Saudi Arabia is one of Poland’s key partners in the Middle East. In 2019, trade between Poland and Saudi Arabia reached a record level of USD 2.7 billion. Saudi Arabia is one of the largest non-EU importers of Polish food and an important player as regards the geographical diversification of energy resource suppliers.
