Minister of Foreign Affairs meets with US Congress delegation

Minister Zbigniew Rau met with a bipartisan delegation from the US Congress, mostly composed of members of the House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs, among whom was Congressman Gregory Meeks, the committee’s chair. The meeting was held in Rzeszów on 5 March.

The visit is part of the US Congress activities in response to Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. The interlocutors focused on comprehensive aid for Ukraine, in particular humanitarian assistance in connection with the influx of refugees from Ukraine into Poland. The congressmen were presented with the current situation at the border with Ukraine and the needs in this regard.

The meeting with congressmen in Rzeszów coincided with the visit of US Secretary of State to the city and is an expression of the Congress’s support for the efforts of US administration, as well as a strong signal of US commitment to European security, enhancement of transatlantic ties and Polish-US relations.
