Minister Rau meets with his Jordanian counterpart

23.09.2021

Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Poland and Jordan

On the margins of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Poland’s foreign minister met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Ayman Safadi. Both ministers expressed their satisfaction with the state of affairs in the bilateral relations and spoke favourably of the most recent Polish-Jordanian political consultations at the level of deputy foreign ministers, held in Amman (20-22 September 2021).

Minister Rau emphasised Poland’s commitment to the cooperation with Jordan as a country that has been receiving refugees from Syria. Jordan is among the key beneficiaries of Polish humanitarian aid in the Middle East, hosting a range of Polish projects concerned with the provision of shelter, medical aid (including in response to the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic), psychological support, food aid, vocational training, and social and educational activities for the youth.

Both ministers agreed that the international community must be actively involved in ensuring stability in the region.
