The visits to Tbilisi, Baku, and Yerevan will focus on existing challenges, facilitating dialogue necessary to de-escalate tensions in the region, the OSCE support for mediation efforts, and enhancing cooperation between the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and the three South Caucasus countries.

 While in Georgia, Minister Zbigniew Rau will meet with President Salome Zourabichvili, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs David Zalkaliani, and First Deputy Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia George Volski. During his visit to Azerbaijan, the OSCE Chairman-in-Office will hold talks with President Ilham Aliyev and head of Azerbaijan diplomacy Jeyhun Bayramov. Finally, Minister Rau will travel to Armenia to meet with President Vahagn Khachaturyan, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
