“Our frequent contacts confirm the positive dynamics of Polish-Czech bilateral relations as well as the efficiency of our cooperation at the regional and international level. As close partners and neighbours, we can engage in a constructive dialogue also on difficult issues in bilateral relations, such as the mutual status of diplomatic properties or the Turów coal mine,” said Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau during bilateral talks with his Czech counterpart Jakub Kulhánek.
The Polish-Czech bilateral talks were held in Warsaw on the sidelines of the meeting of foreign ministers of the Visegrad Group with the head of Japanese diplomacy.
The head of the Polish MFA Zbigniew Rau reiterated his full solidarity with the Czech side in connection with the participation of Russian military intelligence agents in activities that resulted in the explosion of the ammunition depot in Vrbětice in 2014. The two foreign ministers condemned all actions that threaten the security of sovereign states and their citizens and that violate international law. The diplomats also agreed that it is necessary to take further actions within the European Union and NATO to strengthen our resilience.
Moreover, the chiefs of Polish and Czech diplomacy spoke about key bilateral issues and discussed prospects for the two countries’ continued close cooperation under Poland’s presidency of the Visegrad Group.
