Minister Zbigniew Rau meets with Slovak Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Ivan Korčok

The head of Slovak diplomacy expressed his gratitude for assistance provided on 23-24 January 2021 by over 200 Polish doctors and firemen-paramedics during the next round of national testing in Slovakia. "It is a very important and valuable token of Polish-Slovak friendship,” said Minister Ivan Korčok. The ministers discussed, among other topics, the cooperation opportunities in the face of current challenges of the eastern policy. The talk also focused on key geopolitical issues, implementation of joint infrastructural projects such as ViaCarpatia and Polish-Slovak gas pipeline. The interlocutors also addressed bilateral and regional cooperation with the new US administration, and possible scenarios of developing relations with China. Besides, the ministers discussed cooperation under the Three Seas Initiative. To conclude their meeting, the heads of Polish and Slovak diplomacies expressed the hope that the epidemic situation would allow to organize another round of Polish-Slovak intergovernmental consultations in the coming months.
