Minister Rau presented Poland’s position on the war in Ukraine as the OSCE Chair. He stressed the need to engage international institutions in stopping Russia from further aggression and in holding it to account. The minister outlined measures adopted by Poland to support Ukraine and its civilian population affected by the war. He also pointed to assistance for refugees arriving in Poland, provided by both its state institutions and civil society.

Minister Rau also highlighted the need to allow countries which, like Poland, are directly affected by the current war and the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Ukraine, to participate in Security Council discussions on the situation in that country.
