Minister Zbigniew Rau opens OSCE conference on combatting anti-Semitism
07.02.2022
Today, the chief of Polish diplomacy opened the OSCE conference on combatting anti-Semitism. In his address, Minister Rau pointed out that all forms of anti-Semitism should be met with a firm response.
Referring to a shared centuries-old history of Poles and Jews and Poland’s role as a guardian of Holocaust memorial sites, the MFA head highlighted Poland’s commitment to combatting anti-Semitism, also in the wider context of the fight against religious intolerance and strengthening intercultural and interfaith dialogue. The conference attendees were welcomed also by OSCE Secretary General Helga Schmid. On behalf of the Polish President, a letter was read out by Secretary of State at the President’s Chancellery Wojciech Kolarski.
Bringing together a few hundred online and in-person participants, the two-day conference is held at the Polin Museum as part of Poland’s Chairmanship of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe in 2022. Before the conference launch, Minister Rau together with the Secretary General and OSCE Representative for combatting anti-Semitism, xenophobia, and discrimination laid flowers at the Monument to the Ghetto Heroes.
