14.12.2022Poland to ask UNESCO to support efforts to obtain compensation for cultural losses sustained as a result of World War IIDeputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Arkadiusz Mularczyk, Government Plenipotentiary for Compensation for Damage Caused by German Aggression and Occupation in 1939-1945, asked Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization to establish cooperation concerning Poland’s efforts to obtain compensation for losses in the field of culture caused by the German aggression and occupation in 1939-1945.

12.12.2022Meeting of secretaries of state and secretaries general of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the EU Member StatesOn 8-9th of December 2022, the Head of the Foreign Service Mr Arkady Rzegocki took part in a meeting of the Secretaries of State and Secretaries General of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the EU Member States. The session was hosted by Sweden, which will take over the six-month presidency of the Council of the European Union on the 1st of January 2023. Alongside representatives of the EU Member States the meeting was also attended by the Secretary General of the European External Action Service (EEAS).

Organised at the initiative of Romania, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Sweden, the meeting was co-hosted by Josep Borrell, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

12.12.2022Polish and Indian deputy foreign ministers meet for political consultationsIn their talks, Undersecretary of State Marcin Przydacz and Secretary (West) Sanjay Verma of India's Ministry of External Affairs focused on further cooperation between Poland and India in political and economic terms as well as in international fora. The deputy foreign ministers also talked about the most important regional and global issues, including the international implications of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

08.12.2022Results of Foreign Minister’s History Competition for best publications promoting the history of Polish diplomacy and Poland announcedOn 6 December, Minister of Foreign Affairs Zbigniew Rau granted prizes and honourable mentions in the sixth edition of the History Competition. It should be noted that despite temporarily limited access to Polish and foreign archives and libraries, historians published many valuable studies and source publications last year, which were then submitted to this year’s competition.
