On 14 December, Minister Zbigniew Rau met with Matteo Mecacci, Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Arkadiusz Mularczyk, Government Plenipotentiary for Compensation for Damage Caused by German Aggression and Occupation in 1939-1945, asked Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization to establish cooperation concerning Poland’s efforts to obtain compensation for losses in the field of culture caused by the German aggression and occupation in 1939-1945.

"With Poland's support, we can present our talents to the world, proving Ukraine's imperishability," His Excellency Vasyl Zvarych, Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland, said at the opening of the exhibition preview of works by winners of the Indeks im. Mariusza Kazany art competition at the Diplomats' Gallery on the premises of the MFA's Diplomatic Protocol on 13 December 2022.

On 8-9th of December 2022, the Head of the Foreign Service Mr Arkady Rzegocki took part in a meeting of the Secretaries of State and Secretaries General of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the EU Member States. The session was hosted by Sweden, which will take over the six-month presidency of the Council of the European Union on the 1st of January 2023. Alongside representatives of the EU Member States the meeting was also attended by the Secretary General of the European External Action Service (EEAS).

On 12 December, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Paweł Jabłoński – acting on behalf of Foreign Minister Rau – took part in a working lunch of EU foreign ministers, who dealt with the Eastern Partnership. Organised at the initiative of Romania, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Sweden, the meeting was co-hosted by Josep Borrell, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

In their talks, Undersecretary of State Marcin Przydacz and Secretary (West) Sanjay Verma of India's Ministry of External Affairs focused on further cooperation between Poland and India in political and economic terms as well as in international fora. The deputy foreign ministers also talked about the most important regional and global issues, including the international implications of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

On 7-9 December 2022, Minister Zbigniew Rau visited Washington, DC, holding talks with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, representatives of both parties in the US Congress, and experts, and attending the DC edition of the Aspen Security Forum.

On 6 December, Minister of Foreign Affairs Zbigniew Rau granted prizes and honourable mentions in the sixth edition of the History Competition. It should be noted that despite temporarily limited access to Polish and foreign archives and libraries, historians published many valuable studies and source publications last year, which were then submitted to this year’s competition.

On 6-7 December, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Arkadiusz Mularczyk visited Berlin for the first time since he took up the position of deputy foreign minister and government plenipotentiary for compensation for damage caused by German aggression and occupation in 1939-1945.
