On 7 August, a rescue team of State Fire Service with equipment to dry out flooded property left for Rhineland-Palatinate in western Germany. Following the last week’s transport of dehumidifiers to North Rhine-Westphalia, it is another round of this kind of assistance to the residents of western regions of Germany affected with disastrous floodings three weeks ago.
Poland provides further equipment to aid the flooded regions of Germany.
“Poland as a country of solidarity is always willing to come to assistance to those who need it, wherever possible,” said Deputy Minister Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk during the aid dispatch at the depot of the Government Agency for Strategic Reserves in Strzałków. “It’s impressive how we can rely on Polish services, that is the Government Agency for Strategic Reserves (RARS) on one hand and firefighters on the other - when the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other agencies seek to provide support abroad,” underscored the minister.
The equipment provided by the Government Agency for Strategic Reserves as well as by the heads of Lubuskie, West Pomeranian, Świętokrzyskie, Pomeranian and Subcarpathian provinces as well as Opole City Hall, Marshal Office of the Opolskie province and Voluntary Fire Service in Opole will be transferred to the authorities of Ahrweiler in Rhineland-Palatinate, a state which was particularly badly affected in the recent flood. The dispatch at RARS depot in Strzałków was attended by Deputy Foreign Minister Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk, Vice-President of the Government Agency for Strategic Reserves Przemysław Bryksa, as well as firefighters of the National Headquarters of the State Fire Service of Poland.
