The ministers discussed the international situation in the EU’s eastern and southern neighbourhood, bilateral links and the state of transatlantic relations.

Particular attention was given to the developments in Belarus. The diplomats agreed that the actions of the regime in Minsk are unacceptable and that further policy of pressure is necessary. With regard to the EU policy towards Russia, the officials pointed to the need to continue it based on the EU’s five guiding principles policy. It is also important that the eastern policy should take into account the human rights situation in Russia.

The interlocutors reaffirmed their will to continue political dialogue.
