Polish MFA signs Memorandum of Understanding with Viet Nam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs
16.01.2025
During the official visit of Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to the Office of the Prime Minister, a ceremony was held today to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam. The document was signed by MFA Secretary of State Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski and, on the Vietnamese side, by Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang.
The Memorandum of Understanding provides for an intensification of bilateral dialogue through political consultations, exchanging information, dialogue within multilateral fora, and the possibility of running joint public and cultural diplomacy projects. The document also introduces a new element of dialogue between think-tanks and experts and a planning dialogue between foreign policy strategy units, allowing a more open discussion on strategic, geopolitical, and security issues.
The MoU signed today replaces the one signed in 2010 and will provide a basis for cooperation between the foreign ministries of Poland and Viet Nam for another five years.
