Held in Warsaw, the meeting discussed the state of bilateral relations as well as prospects for intensifying economic cooperation. The Nigerian side was very interested to learn about Polish achievements in modern technologies, particularly the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, renewable energy sources, and digital solutions, especially in the financial sector. The diplomats also talked about cooperation in defence and agriculture, the latter being one of the most important sectors of Nigeria’s economy.

Deputy Minister Jabłoński praised Nigeria’s position on the African continent and its commitment to stabilise the security situation in the Lake Chad region and in the Sahel. The deputy chief of Polish diplomacy also congratulated Permanent Secretary Aduda on the appointment of Nigerian candidates to two important positions in international organisations: Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala who was elected Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), and Bankole Adeoye who was appointed Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security of the African Union.
