Polish–Uzbekistani consultations

Secretary of State Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski met with Abdulaziz Kamilov, Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Foreign Affairs and former long-serving head of Uzbekistani diplomacy.
The interlocutors underlined that Polish–Uzbekistani relations are very good, noting the historical ties between both countries, as well as the ever closer economic and people-to-people contacts. They also discussed the extensive programme of events and bilateral visits planned for 2025, including the initiatives related to the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
Deputy Minister Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski and Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Foreign Affairs Abdulaziz Kamilov hoped that this year will see a significant progress in Polish–Uzbekistani relations and add momentum to EU–Central Asia relations. The diplomats emphasised the importance of EU cooperation for the development of Central Asian countries, as well as its benefits for Poland and Uzbekistan. They also remarked on the opportunities behind the Global Gateway initiative and on the significance of infrastructure advancement through such projects as the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.
