Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk appointed new Minister of Foreign Affairs

During today’s swearing-in ceremony of the government of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at the Presidential Palace, Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk, who up to now served as Minister for the European Union, has been appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk was born on 24 November 1982 in Poznań. He graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, where he majored in international relations. 

Since 2022, he served as Minister for the European Union. In 2018–2022, he was Secretary of State for Europe, Polish Community Abroad, Public and Cultural Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland. In 2018–2019, he was government plenipotentiary for the Western Balkans Summit in Poznań, and in 2020–2021 served as government plenipotentiary for the Polish presidency of the Visegrad Group and celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the V4.
