Talks of foreign ministers of Poland and Iraq

Bilateral matters and security in the region were at the core of the talks between Minister Zbigniew Rau and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq Fuad Hussein held on the margins of the General Debate at the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly. The ministers agreed that the mutual relations should be furthered. They also addressed the issue of migration.

Minister Rau offered reassurance that military cooperation will be continued and assured his interlocutor of his support for the sovereignty of Iraq. Poland’s foreign minister recognised the actions taken by Iraq to bring stability to the region and the ongoing Iraqi mediation in the talks between Saudi Arabia and Iran.
