The Next Generation: Better Skills for the Workplace of the Future

Work, as we know it, changes rapidly. The way in which we used to manufacture goods, provide services changes – and so change the workers businesses need, the skills that will be sought after in the market. This transformation is not only restricted to IT, it encompasses the whole economy, affecting employees on both spectrums of the skill ladder. How can we anticipate these changes and equip the youth of today and tomorrow with the skills they need? How does the changing nature of work affect the tertiary education and how does it affect the vocational training? Is the employee of the future akin to a modern-day entrepreneur?

Main topics:

  • Better youth skills as the next generation advancing technological development and supporting economic growth
  • Promotion of youth entrepreneurship
  • Peer-to-peer learning and skills development in businesses
  • Building a lifelong learning ecosystem

Moderator: Duro Blanusa, Secretary-General, Regional Youth Cooperation Office (RYCO)

Time frame and format: Moderated 60-75 minutes panel discussion with 15-45 minutes Q&A.
