The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was represented by Undersecretary of State Anna Radwan-Röhrenschef. The conference was devoted to the future of the Eastern Partnership, a project co-initiated by Minister Radosław Sikorski.
The discussions focused on the EU enlargement policy in the context of the changing geopolitical situation and the war in Ukraine. The meeting also covered priorities of the EU’s eastern neighbourhood: security, prosperity, social market economy, green and digital transformation, strengthening democracy and protection from foreign influence, promotion of the rule of law and fundamental values, pursuit of European interests worldwide, enhancing resilience and preparedness, promotion of good neighbourly relations and regional cooperation.
The Eastern Partnership has facilitated people-to-people contacts between the EU and partner countries. Some noteworthy examples are visa liberalisation, opening EU programmes to partner countries, and youth activation.

The Conference of the Regional and Local Authorities for the Eastern Partnership (CORLEAP) was set up by the Committee of the Regions of the European Union in Poznań in September 2011 as a permanent platform for cooperation between local governments of the European Union and regional and local authorities from the partner countries. The conference aims to support contacts between regional authorities, foster dialogue on governance decentralisation reforms, and facilitate cross-border and regional cooperation between countries engaged in the Eastern Partnership.
