On behalf of the Polish Prime Minster, Deputy Minister Anna Radwan-Röhrenschef, who represented the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, laid a wreath at the foot of the Virtuti Militari Cross Memorial at the Polish war cemetery during celebrations to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Battle of Monte Cassino fought by General Władysław Anders’s Polish II Corps.

 

The ceremony was preceded by a meeting with Italian President Sergio Mattarella. Topics of conversation included security issues in the context of the war in Ukraine, migration policy and military cooperation between Poland and Italy.
