We are supporting Polish seniors. MFA joins the #CyfrowyWolontariusz programme

23.11.2020

“Any one of us can become an e-volunteer and help others by joining the #WspierajSeniora [Support senior citizen] initiative,” said Deputy Minister Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk. Referring to the “Polonia for Neighbours” campaign, he called on Polish communities across the world to join the Polish government’s initiative “Cyfrowy Wolontariusz” (“Digital e-volunteer”) under the “Solidarity Senior Support Corps” programme.

Polish community engagement in the initiative is of outstanding importance, especially in these challenging times for the elderly. Volunteerism is a way to express intergenerational solidarity and a token of our compatriots’ exceptional link with their home country. A digital volunteer helps seniors use communication tools or handle official matters via internet.
