14.10.2020
Representatives of governments and European institutions, as well as representatives of regions, participated in a video-conference on the Carpathian strategy. The event was organized by the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Poland to the EU in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance, Funds and Regional Policy.
In his speech, Ambassador Andrzej Sados emphasized the importance of the strategy for the further development of the Carpathian macro-region and appreciated the efforts of local authorities for the effective advancement of this initiative, pointing to the important role of the Interregional Carpathian Group at the European Committee of the Regions, chaired by Władysław Ortyl, Marshal of the Podkarpackie Region.
The basis for future actions in this area is a further mobilization of regions, parliamentarians from the Carpathian countries and Members of the European Parliament. The Carpathian initiative is complementary to the Three Seas Initiative.
The meeting was attended by stakeholders from the Visegrad Group countries as well as Moldova, Romania, Serbia and Ukraine. It was part of a series of events organized by the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Poland to the EU under the Polish presidency of the V4 Group.
