Acting Permanent Representative of Poland to the EU

Born on July 10, 1972 in Warsaw. Graduate of the University of Nancy (France) and the College of Europe in Natolin.

She worked at the College of Europe and at the Office of the Committee for European Integration.

In 2002, as the only representative of the countries joining the European Union, she became a member of the Secretariat of the European Convention, which, under the chairmanship of Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, drafted the Constitutional Treaty. Subsequently, she joined the Council of the European Union team involved in working on the Lisbon Treaty.

From 2003 she worked in the Council of the EU, specializing in the areas of cohesion policy and financial services.

Responsible for institutional affairs and the multi-annual financial framework since 2009, she was then working on European Council matters, including conclusions of EU heads of state or government.

In 2016, she became Head of the Cabinet of the Secretary General of the Council and a member of the GSC's Advisory Board and Audit Committee.

In November 2022 she was appointed as Director General of Communications and Information in the General Secretariat of the Council of the EU.

From February to October 2024, she worked as Secretary of State in the Prime Minister's Office.

Agnieszka Bartol is fluent in French and English. She also speaks Italian and Russian.

Married, she has two daughters.
