Extraordinary EPSCO (Health) Council meeting on coronavirus

An extraordinary meeting of the EPSCO Council was held in Brussels on 13 February to analyze the situation related to the ongoing epidemic of the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak in China.
The discussion focused on current and future actions to prevent the consequences of the spread of COVID-19 infections. Poland emphasized the need to continue cooperation at the EU and international level in the area of crisis management, as well as the need to take long-term actions to prevent the negative impact of crisis situations in third countries on the availability of medicines in the EU member states.
During the meeting, the health ministers adopted Council Conclusions calling on member states and the European Commission to counteract threats resulting from the spread of COVID-19 infections.
The Polish delegation was headed by Mr. Waldemar Kraska, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Health.
