During the discussion on Russia's aggression against Ukraine, Minister Rau called for maintaining the EU's determination to support Ukraine, including, in particular, increasing and accelerating the supply of arms. The minister called for work to begin on a seventh package of sanctions, strengthening restrictions in the financial, energy, transport, IT and services sectors. With regard to exports of Ukrainian agricultural products, Minister Rau reported that, as a result of the measures taken by Poland to facilitate their transport through our country, we have seen a fourfold increase in exports of Ukrainian cereals using Polish ports. He encouraged the other Member States and the EC to intensify their efforts in this area. He also pointed out the need to fight Russian disinformation more effectively, above all in contacts with countries of the global South, and to clearly point out Russia's responsibility for provoking the food crisis.

The head of Polish diplomacy expressed the hope that at the next European Council meeting, in June 2022, leaders would grant Ukraine, as well as Moldova, EU candidate status, and that Georgia would be able to quickly fulfil the conditions for obtaining it - in line with the recommendations contained in the European Commission's opinions of 17 June 2022.

In a discussion with Egypt's head of diplomacy, Sameh Shoukry, Polish Minister pointed to the Kremlin's sole responsibility for blocking Ukrainian grain exports, which has led to Egypt’s difficult food situation.
