General Affairs Council video conference

The main topic of the EU affairs ministers video conference was the preparation of the next meeting of heads of state and government, which is scheduled for 10-11 December. Poland at the meeting was represented by the Minister for the European Union, Konrad Szymański.

During the meeting, the issue of the 2030 climate target, the epidemiological situation related to the COVID-19 pandemic and security issues were discussed.

The EU's chief Brexit negotiator, Michel Barnier, and the Vice-President of the European Commission, Maros Sefcovic, presented the current state of the EU-UK negotiations and the implementation of the exit agreement. In addition, Commission's Vice-President Vera Jourova presented the main points of the recently published Democracy Action Plan.

In any other business, the German Presidency discussed the negotiating framework for North Macedonia's and Albania's accession.
