Informal meeting of heads of diplomacy of EU countries with participation of Deputy Minister Bartoszewski

During today's meeting in Brussels, the ministers discussed Russia's aggression against Ukraine, the situation in the Middle East, as well as in Venezuela, following the recent presidential elections in that country. On the sidelines of the meeting, the ministers met with Turkish Foreign Ministry chief Hakan Fidan.
In a discussion on Russia's aggression against Ukraine, with the participation of Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuliba, Deputy Minister Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski stressed the need for stable military support from the West to ensure Ukraine's success on the battlefield. He noted the need to continue economic support, increase aid to Ukraine's energy sector and continue the sanctions policy. Regarding the situation in the Middle East, Deputy Minister Bartoszewski supported efforts to bring an immediate end to hostilities. He also expressed concern about the deteriorating security situation on the Israel-Lebanon border.
On Venezuela, he stressed that it is crucial to coordinate the EU's position regarding the results of the country's presidential elections.
In an informal discussion with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, the ministers discussed EU-Turkey relations, referring to the report of the European Commission and the High Representative on the issue, presented in November 2023.
