Meeting of the Visegrad Group countries Prime Ministers with the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen

Prime Ministers Mateusz Morawiecki, Viktor Orbán and Andrej Babiš met in Brussels with the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen in order to talk about issues related to migration, the EU budget and the situation in Belarus.
"With our friends from the Visegrad Group, we have a very clear view on migration issues. There are certain rules that we stick to regarding the need to ensure the most stringent and effective policies concerning border controls, assistance in places from which potential migrants can migrate to Europe" - the head of the Polish government stated during the press conference in the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Poland to the EU.
The talks also focused on the plan for democratic Belarus prepared at the initiative of Poland and agreed by the prime ministers of the Visegrad Group countries. The proposal, including the creation of an international stabilization package and assistance in infrastructure investments, will be presented in detail at the next meeting of the European Council.
The head of the Polish government informed that the meeting with President von der Leyen also discussed the EU recovery fund after the Covid-19 pandemic and the next long-term EU budget. Prime Minister Morawiecki emphasized in this context that all conclusions agreed in July at the EUCO summit must be binding.
The Prime Minister of Slovakia, Igor Matovič, did not attend the meeting. He was represented by the head of the Polish government due to the fact that Poland currently holds the V4 rotating presidency.
