Poland, in cooperation with the European Commission, supports Belarus in the fight against COVID-19

Poland supports its neighbours again in their fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Over 40 trucks sets off to Belarus, carrying in total 300 tonnes of protective equipment and supplies.

The transferred equipment included over 5 million masks, 250,000 liters of disinfectant liquid, 20 thousand drug packaging and 30 respirators. Helmets, aprons and overalls were also included in the transport.

Among the aid donors there are Ministry of Health, the Material Reserves Agency, Industrial Development Agency and a renown pharmaceutical company Polfa Tarchomin S.A.  The aid was delivered to Belarus through a state treasury foundation Solidarity Fund PL. The transport could not be carried out without the involvement of the State Fire Service, Polish Border Guard, or the Police. The activities of the European Commission are coordinated by the Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG ECHO).
