Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki participated in the videoconference of the European Council members

During the discussion, EU leaders focused on issues related to limiting the spread of coronavirus and the provision of medical equipment, with particular emphasis on masks and respirators. In addition, the topic of counteracting the socio-economic dimensions and consequences of the COVID19 pandemic was raised.

European Council members also supported the European Commission's guidelines on border management and agreed to close external borders for a period of 30 days.

During the call it has also been decided that the European Council meeting planned for next week will not take place. Instead, the leaders will once again hold a video conference.
