Video conference of European affairs ministers

The presentation of the Portuguese Presidency's priorities and preparations for the next meeting of Heads of State and Government on COVID-19 coordination were the main topics of the videoconference of ministers responsible for European affairs. Poland was represented by Minister Konrad Szymański.

Portuguese presidency presented its priorities for the next six months.Portugal has set out three main priorities for its presidency: promoting a recovery boosted by the climate and digital transitions, implementing the European pillar of social rights and strengthening Europe's strategic autonomy.

Ministers prepared the leaders' video conference on COVID-19 coordination to be held on 21 January. Discussions focused, among other issues, on the vaccine roll-out, three weeks after the start of the vaccination programme.

EU ministers took stock of the state of interinstitutional discussions on the Conference on the Future of Europe.
