Video conference of interior ministers

During the informal video conference of ministers responsible for internal affairs, the European Commission presented guidelines on the implementation of the migration and asylum acquis during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the Join European Roadmap towards lifting the containment measures.

In matters related to migration, ministers were informed that the European Commission's priorities are the access to asylum procedures, reception, quarantine, information for applications and flexible instruction on registration procedure. During the discussion about the recommendations for measures in connection with the COVID-19 exit strategy, the EC, outlined the importance of coordinated response, as well as a common approach which draws on the scientific knowledge and capabilities in the field of various EU resources.


EU ministers also discussed the migration situation in Libya. This topic will be at the top of the agenda of the next video conference scheduled for April 27.
