"Our activities should be focused on the reconstruction of the economies of the Eastern Partnership countries. In this way, we can strengthen the relations of these countries with the EU" - he added.

At the meeting, the ministers expressed their support for the Joint Communication on the Eastern Partnership beyond 2020 and its five long-term political objectives, which are: economy and connectivity; accountable institutions; rule of law and security; green and digital transformation and fair and inclusive societies. In March, the proposal was presented by the Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi and the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borell.
