Video conference of the members of the European Council

EU heads of state and government held a discussion on the collective effort to fight the pandemic. Poland was represented by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

During the videoconference, EU leaders exchanged views on the best practice in testing, including the use of rapid antigen tests, joint assessment of testing methods, contact tracing and vaccine issues.

The videoconference was preceded by the coordination of the leaders of the Visegrad Group countries.

Due to the rapid increase in the number of the cases in the EU, in early October, EU leaders initiated a regular exchange of experiences at the European Council on the measures taken by individual Member States. In the coming weeks, further meetings of the members of the European Council are planned to comprehensively discuss issues related to the coordination of activities in the field of COVID-19 prevention.
