Video conference of the ministers for European affairs

Preparation for the upcoming meeting of heads of state or government was the main topic of the videoconference of ministers responsible for European affairs. Poland was represented by the Minister for the European Union, Konrad Szymański.

The discussion was focused on countering COVID-19 at EU level, in particular on the assessment of the epidemic situation, the movement of persons, as well as the production and rollout of vaccines. 

During the meeting, ministers took stock of the interinstitutional discussions on the Conference on the Future of Europe and exchanged views on the European democracy action plan, following an initial presentation by the European Commission.

In addition, European affairs ministers assessed the state of play of EU-UK relations for the first time since the signature of the Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA) in December 2020.
