Duration of childcare leave

The duration of childcare leave is a maximum of 36 months.

In addition, if, due to a medical condition confirmed by a disability certificate or certificate confirming the degree of disability, a child requires the personal care of the employee, an ‘additional’ childcare leave of up to 36 months may be granted independently of the basic childcare leave, but only for a period of time until the child reaches the age of 18.
