Administrative Decision-Making Department
The Administrative Decision-Making Department conducts administrative proceedings in the second instance, as well as in extraordinary procedures, in cases related to species protection, assessments of impact on Natura 2000 sites, environmental damage, historical pollution of the earth’s surface, works carried out on water courses, arrangements regarding draft decisions on tree removal along public roads, draft decisions on zoning and land development, as well as draft local plans and studies of conditions and directions of spatial development in communes, removal of waste from sites not intended for this purpose in areas managed by communes, and in cases related to restricted areas, conducted under the Waste Management Act.
The Department is also responsible for handling cases under Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on environmental liability with regard to the prevention and remedying of environmental damage. It also examines appeals against the refusal to issue a certificate by the authority responsible for monitoring Natura 2000 sites.
