EMAS logo
What is the EMAS logo?
The EMAS logo is a graphic image that carries connotations of:
- proper implementation of EMAS
- commitment to continuous environmental protection improvement,
- active involvement of employees,
- reliability of information on the organisation’s environmental performance,
- proven legal compliance.
By using the EMAS logo, the organization demonstrates that it is environmentally friendly.
How to use the EMAS logo?
The EMAS logo may be used only by organizations with a valid EMAS registration.
- the logo must always bear the organisation’s registration number, except for being used in EMAS promotion or marketing activities,
- only the official logo is valid,
- if an organization has several sites, not all of which are covered by registration, it can only use the logo with respect to registered sites and must not create the impression that the entire organization is registered,
- it is preferable to provide the logo in question on an environmental statement.
Use of the EMAS logo for EMAS-related marketing and promotional purposes
The EMAS logo can be used without a registration number only in the aforementioned circumstances. The logo may be used by competent authorities, accreditation and licensing bodies, and other stakeholders.
How not to use the EMAS logo
The EMAS logo must not be used:
- on products or their packaging to avoid confusion with product labelling
- in conjunction with comparative claims concerning other activities and services.
- The logo may not be used in a way that could lead to its confusion with other labeling of products or services.
