Marek Kajs
Deputy General Director for Environmental Protection
Marek Kajs completed MA studies at the Agricultural University of Krakow, where he majored in forestry. He also completed postgraduate studies “Forest Holding Organization and Management” at the University of Life Sciences in Poznań.
He has participated in numerous training courses in environmental protection, application of national and Community law, personnel management, and project management.
Ever since Marek Kajs began his professional career, he has been involved in nature conservation. He started his career in the Department of National Forms of Nature Conservation at the Ministry of the Environment. He has been involved in the work of the General Directorate for Environmental Protection since its inception. He was a member of the Corps of the Polish Presidency in the Council of the European Union, the Head of the Department of Protected Areas, Habitats, and Landscape in the Department of Nature Conservation, the Head of the Department of Conservation Planning in the Department of Nature Resources Management, and from 2014 – the Deputy Director of the Department of Nature Resources Management in the General Directorate for Environmental Protection. Since 2014, he has held the position of Deputy General Director for Environmental Protection.
