Architectural accessibility

Architectural accessibility in the buildings of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management

The headquarters of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management,  Konstruktorska 3A, 02-673 Warsaw, can be reached independently by car or public transport.

Access by public transport: line 136: stop Konstruktorska 01 and 06, line 138: stop Konstruktorska 01 and 02, access by tram line 17, 18 and 31: stop Konstruktorska 03 and 04.

A disabled parking space has been designated in front of the building.

The easiest way to reach the main entrance of the NFEPWM building is from the side of Konstruktorska Street, the walkways leading to the building are not equipped with guidance paths for the blind/visually impaired.

Moving around the buildings and the facilities used

There are 2 entrances to the building from the side of Konstruktorska Street marked 1a and 3a. There are wheelchair ramps at both entrances. There are also stairs leading to both entrances. For guests, there is an entrance 3a where the main reception is located. The most accessible entrance for people with special needs (including wheelchair users) is the entrance to building 1A, where it is possible to leave or submit correspondence and receive assistance from the NFOŚiGW reception staff at the entrance to the building or use the wheelchairs available at the reception desk after prior telephone arrangement - tel. +48 (22) 45 90 500. Further passages are protected by gates through which a person in a wheelchair can pass. The entrance doors to the building are wheelchair accessible, the doors and glass walls in the building are marked with contrasting tape or contrasting elements. The headquarters is not equipped with a tiflomap and the buildings do not use an audible navigation system for the visually impaired. The individual rooms, are not marked with raised numerals and Braille.

For wheelchair users and those who are blind or visually impaired, lifts equipped with voice announcements are available, and the control buttons are marked in dot-matrix Braille. Toilets for the disabled are located on the ground floor of the buildings in close proximity to the reception area and on the first floor level opposite the gates. The building's stairs are equipped with handrails and the stairs are marked with contrasting stripes.

The main reception is equipped with an induction loop to assist the hard of hearing. In addition, reception staff provide information on the layout of the NFEPWM's premises, and a visual version of information on the location and functions of the various rooms in the buildings is provided on the infokiosk screen.

Guide dog users are able to enter the premises with an assistance dog and move around the building.

In accordance with the safety rules at NFEPWM, visitors and interested parties do not move around the building on their own. They are always accompanied by invitees or case managers, ensuring that they can get to the right rooms and that they have the necessary support.
