14-th edition of "Thanks Jimi Festival"

May 1, the 14th edition of the Norwegian version of the Thanks Jimi Festival took place in Kolben kulturhus. The festival is supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Oslo. This is the only event of this type in Norway where Norwegian youth sing Polish songs togehter with Polish performers!

The festival concert has been opened with a medley of instrumental themes performed by the youth "Junior Orchestra". Then, orchestra of 60 people led by Mirosław "Carlos" Kaczmarczyk - leader of the Polish-Norwegian Loud Jazz Band - and accompanied by such traditional festival stars as Eivind Staxrud (the festival's Jimi Hendrix), Dominika Łuczynska and David Prokop performed covers of Norwegian, international and Polish rock and blues standards. On the stage of Kolben kulturhus have been performed such kind of hits as "Hey Joe", "Layla", "Whole lotta love" and "Hall of the mountain king" as well as "Chcemy być sobą" by Perfect, "Co mi Panie dasz" by Bajm or "Jesteś lekiem na całe zło" by Krystyna Prońko.
