Celebrations of the Day of Polish Community and Poles Abroad and Republic of Poland Flag Day and 230th anniversary of the Constitution of 3 May in Oslo

On 02/05/2021, on the occasion of the Day of the Polish Diaspora and Poles Abroad, the Day of the Flag of the Republic of Poland and the 230th anniversary of the Constitution of 3 of May, in front of the Monument of Polish Aviators at the Vestre Gravlund cemetery in Oslo has taken place the ceremony of hoisting the Polish flag on the mast, laying bouquets and lighting candles.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Oslo - Consul of the Republic of Poland Anna Śmiałek - Grzyb, Consul Andrzej Jach and Polish Scouts.
In a short speech addressed to the participants of the celebrations, Consul of the Republic of Poland in Oslo, Anna Śmiałek-Grzyb emphasized the role of the Polish community in strengthening Polish values outside Poland, thanked for cultivating the national spirit, language, tradition and culture, and appealed to the Polish community and the young generation of Poles in Norway for further strengthening of patriotism and the high position of Poland and Poles in Norway.
The consul recalled also the importance of the Constitution of May 3, the first written constitution in Europe and the second in the world. She remained that the Constitution was the great achievement of Poles, which were later modeled on by other countries in Europe and the world.
