Ceremony of decoration Mr. P. Zagierski and Mr. M. Kaczmarczyk

On December 17, 2020 during the ceremony at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Oslo, Ambassador I. Woicka-Żuławska awarded two representatives of the Polish Diaspora in Norway distinctively active in the promotion of Polish history and culture. Mr. Przemysław Zagierski was decorated with a commemorative medal on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw, and Mr. Mirosław "Carlos" Kaczmarczyk - with a bronze medal "For Merit to Culture - Gloria Artis".
Przemysław Zagierski was awarded for the active promotion of Józef Piłsudski in Norway. In 2020, he organized an exhibition and gave a lecture dedicated to the achievements of one of the greatest Pole of XXth century.
Mirosław "Carlos" Kaczmarczyk received the medal for his consistent commitment to the promotion of Polish jazz music in Norway. As an electric guitar teacher and guardian of young jazz bands, he includes themes and works of Polish jazz composers in the programs of the bands. He is also organizing in Kolboten - for already 10 years - "Thanks Jimi Festival" for guitarists of all ages, consistently including Polish themes in the repertoire of the event. Moreover, for over 30 years he has been founder and leader of the Polish-Norwegian group - Loud Jazz Band.
In recognition of his achievement, in 2013, Polish community in Norway distinguished Mirosław "Carlos" Kaczmarczyk with the title of Outstanding Pole in Norway in the field of art.
