April 19, on the 78th anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising the Ambassadors of the Republic of Poland and the State of Israel in the Kingdom of Norway, Iwona Woicka-Żuławska and Alon Roth, laid flowers at the monument commemorating the deportation of Jews from Norway during World War II in Oslo.
Ambassador I. Woicka-Żuławska explained the sources of the tradition of commemorating the anniversary of the Outbreak of the Uprising with daffodils and quoted a poem written by an outstanding Jewish poet of the interwar period, a victim of the uprising - Władysław Szlengel, "Passports". She underlined the importance of remembering also those who helped Jews, like the recently discovered involvement of Polish diplomats, the so-called Ładoś's Group in Switzerland, who delivered hundreds of fake passports, or heros like Pilecki, who told the World the truth about the Nazi-German Concentration Camp Auschwitz.
