Lem Days in Oslo

24th-25 of September, on the occasion of 100th anniversary of birth of Stanisław Lem - outstanding Polish science-fiction writer, a series of debates dedicated to his work took place in Litteratur på Blå in Oslo.

Lem Days - 1

Paricipants of the panels and the gathered audience discussed, inter alia, on film adaptations of "Solaris" and "Solaris' vision in visual and performative arts. Fragments of the novel, which this year appeared on the Norwegian publishing market in a new translation, were also read. Discussions concentrated also on comparison of writing of Stanisław Lem and Philip Dick, definition of global climate ficition and the most characteristic trends present in the new Norwegian science fiction literature.
