Official celebration of the National Day of Independence in Norway

The official celebration of the 102nd anniversary of Poland regaining independence in Norway took place on 11th November. Due to the epidemiological situation and the restrictions introduced by the Norwegian authorities in social contacts, the celebrations focused on laying wreaths at the monument of Polish aviators at the Vestre Gravlund cemetery in Oslo.
In celebration participated representatives of the Polish community in Norway, representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Oslo and the diplomats accredited in Oslo.
Ambassador Iwona Woicka - Żuławska, in a speech addressed to the participants of the celebrations, presented the circumstances of regaining independence by Poland and recalled the successes of the Second Polish Republic. Encouraging to celebrate this joyful anniversary, Madame Ambassador also appealed to commemorate the achievements and efforts of Polish men and women during more that 100 years of restored statehood.
Short message to the Polish community in Norway was delivered also by Consul Anna Śmiałek - Grzyb.
