The inauguration of the 9th edition of the Polish Film Days (Polske Filmdager) took place in the foyer of the Fredrikstad cinema on October 9. The festival was launched with the opening ceremony of the exhibition "Bruno Schulz 1892 - 1942" from the collection of the Museum of Literature in Warsaw which was done by Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Kingdom of Norway I. Woicka-Zulawska
In the context of the exhibition, the Ambassador recalled the multi-ethnic and multicultural character of the Second Polish Republic in which Bruno Schultz grew up and created, and the losses that Poland suffered in this dimension as a result of World War II.
The Ambassador also noted the rich history and proximity of Polish-Ukrainian cultural ties, thanking the organizers for highlighting Ukrainian themes in this year's edition of the Festival and stressing that this is of particular importance today, when Ukraine must defend its freedom and independence against the barbaric invasion of Russia.
The ninth edition of Polske Filmdager - organized with the support of the Polish Embassy in Oslo - takes place in Fredrikstad and Oslo and will last until October 22.
The main sponsor of the festival is Lotos Norge.
