In a special spot presented on the 172th anniversary of Fryderyk Chopin's death, Secretary of State Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk plays the waltz in D flat major Op. 64, speaks about the links between the composer and diplomacy and encourages to follow the final stage of Chopin Competition.
In a short movie, which promotes the Festival, Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk shares some interesting facts about links between Chopin's music and diplomacy. Among other things, You will learn that the buliding in Paris, within the walls of which Chopin began his world career, is now the residence of the Polish Ambassador. You will get some knowledge also Chopin's active lobbing for restitution of Poland during his stay on exile and use of Chopin's music by Ignacy Paderewski in his diplomatic efforts promoting Polish independence in United States.
