Andrzej Głowacki - Acting President of the PAA

As of December 15, 2022, the Minister of Climate and Environment, Anna Moskwa, entrusted the performance of the duties of the President of the National Atomic Energy Agency to Vice President Andrzej Głowacki.
Andrzej Głowacki has been the Vice President of the PAA since September 2020. He has been associated with the National Atomic Energy Agency for many years. Previously, he held the position of Director of the Department of Nuclear Safety and Security, responsible, among others, for supervision over the safety of nuclear facilities in the country, including the MARIA research reactor. At PAA, Andrzej Głowacki also held the position of the Director of the Oversight and Inspection Department, as well as position of the Head of the Nuclear Facilities Inspection Unit.
Master of Physics, graduate of the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of the University of Bialystok. He perfected his skills during post-graduate studies in the field of nuclear energy at the Faculty of Power and Aeronautical Engineering of the Warsaw University of Technology. He also completed a number of national and international trainings, including on-the-job training at the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (US NRC) in the scope of conducting inspections at the construction site of the Vogtle nuclear power plant and V.C. Summer, as well as the commissioning of the Watts Bar 2 nuclear power plant in the United States.
Andrzej Głowacki is a representative of the Republic of Poland in the Heads of the European Radiological Protection Competent Authorities (HERCA) and the Western European Nuclear Regulators Association (WENRA). The Vice President acting as PAA President also has the powers of a nuclear regulatory inspector. He is a member of the PAA President's examination committee for the position of nuclear regulatory inspectors.
