Communication on the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant

“As the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine (SNRIU) reports, there is no damage to the systems which are vital for the nuclear safety of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant"- the Minister of Climate and Environment, Anna Moskwa, emphasized on 4 March 2022. The President of the National Atomic Energy Agency, Łukasz Młynarkiewicz, also participated in the press conference”.
As pointed out by the Minister of Climate and Environment, Anna Moskwa, the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine (SNRIU) reports on an ongoing basis on the situation in nuclear power plants using the Unified System for Information Exchange in Incidents and Emergencies (USIE).
We are in constant contact with the Ukrainian side. At 6:20 a.m. the fire was extinguished. The units of the largest nuclear power plant in Europe remain intact. The systems and components that are vital for the safety of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant are operational
– she said.
There was no rise in radiation at the power plant. The radiation levels in Poland remain normal. There is no threat
– Minister Moskwa added.
The President of the Polish National Atomic Energy Agency (PAA), Łukasz Młynarkiewicz, reminded that the PAA continuously monitors radiation levels in Poland.
Currently, there is no threat to human health and life and the environment in Poland. The radiation levels do not differ from those before Russian aggression against Ukraine
